| I (Jack) wanted to travel to Barrow, Utqiaġvik in the Inupiat language, before winter set in, and thankfully, the opportunity came. In spite of the frigid cold, rain, snow, hail, and fierce winds affecting our arrival and departure, our visit was a deeply meaningful reconnect. We had the privilege of meeting with Mayor Josiah Patkotak and sharing communion with him and his staff. Our final activity was definitely special. Clifford, a very integrated member of the tribe and the village, drove us to the northernmost tip of the United States--Point Barrow—where we prayed, shared communion, and blew the shofar over the land and sea.
